The Department offers B.Tech Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Electrical Engineering has a very broad scope with the science and technology which involves electricity, electronics and electromagnetism in order to design, construct and maintain products, services, and information systems. Electrical engineers can be found in almost all sectors of the work force, including research and development, product design, manufacturing, operations, service, technical sales, marketing, consulting, education and policy making....
The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering is dedicated to the current needs of industry with the flexibility to tune its programmes according to the different requirements. Application of the state of the art technology in various fields is one of the main focuses in the activities of the department. The department is well equipped for training the students with a streamlined curriculum that provides an ambient atmosphere for learning and acquiring new skills. The department focuses on providing sound theoretical background as well as good practical exposure to the students for their future endeavors. The curriculum has been designed with the aim of providing a wide spectrum of knowledge and experience based across key areas of this dynamic discipline. The program is designed to serve both the students who intend to enter industry directly and others who plan to continue their education through formal studies.

Program Outcomes (POs)


Engineering Graduates will be able to:

1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design / Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

The following Program Educational Objectives are designed based on the Department Mission.

PEO1: Graduates of Electrical and Electronics engineering program shall have the skills, confidence and experience to enable them to pursue their career.

PEO2: The Electrical and Electronics engineering program is designed to provide a strong educational back ground on which the candidates can build successful and sustainable careers in electrical engineering and other allied core fields of specializations to meet the global needs.

PEO3: Develop communication skills necessary to bridge the gap between advanced technology and end users, besides, creating an opportunity for students to work as part of teams on multidisciplinary area.

PEO4: Familiarize the students with problems & challenges in Electrical Engineering in addition to an insight into contemporary issues and their implications to engineering practice by acquiring the mathematical and scientific knowledge needed to solve emerging real-world problems.

PEO5: Obtain an extensive knowledge of electrical engineering to serve as a foundation for lifelong learning, and to achieve success in their professional career and/or advancement to post graduate and research studies with emphasis on ethics and personal values.

  • 1. Develop technical knowledge, skill and competence in circuit design, control engineering, electrical machines, power system and power electronics.
